Journal of Integrated Circuits and Systems (JICAS)

Journal of Integrated Circuits and Systems (JICAS) is an open-access, peer-reviewed online journal published quarterly on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 by the IC Design Education Center (IDEC).

Established in 1995, the IC Design Education Center (IDEC) has supported chip design and fabrication in university laboratories across Korea through collaboration with major semiconductor companies such as Samsung, DB HiTek, and SK Hynix. JICAS compiles and publishes outstanding research outcomes from the Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) programs as a dedicated journal.

(Annually, IDEC support the design and fabrication of approximately 200 semiconductor chips, and papers are published for the top 20% of outstanding designs among them.)

In this way, JICAS serves as an archival journal for systematically sharing and preserving exceptional research achievements. Furthermore, it continues to expand its role and is expected to become a key platform for disseminating research results in the fields of integrated circuit design and very-large-scale integration (VLSI) system design.

Publishing Model

1. Scope

  • Articles submitted should address a topic related to intergrated circuit design or VLSI system design. JICAS mainly covers outstanding IDEC MPW program projects' circuit design methods but other related research results could be included to the journal in accordance with editors' decision.

2. Peer Review

  • The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Peer Review Policy (Section 3. Selecting reviewers & Section 4. Review criteria). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.

3. Open Access

  • All articles published are immediately accessible online free of charge and  published under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (creativecommon.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0, as indicated in articles), which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
